Witch Formulas and Norwegian Magic Recipes

Volume II (Formulas 372–757)

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING
This book contains ancient witch formulas and magical recipes  from Norwegian manuscripts from the 16th to 19th centuries, compiled in the late 19th century by Dr. Anton Christian Bang. Its content is presented exclusively for historical, cultural, and academic purposes.
Some formulas describe practices that are now considered dangerous, toxic, abusive, manipulative, or contrary to ethics and current legislation, including references to animal cruelty and the use of harmful substances. The editor and translator strongly advise against putting these formulas into practice and assume no responsibility for the misuse of the information contained in this work.

This second volume continues the first and only Spanish translation of the monumental work compiled by Dr. Anton Christian Bang at the beginning of the 20th century. An exceptional compendium of Nordic popular magic that brings together formulas transmitted between the 16th and 19th centuries, rescued from ancient Norwegian manuscripts.

This volume collects formulas from No. 372 to No. 757, where magical tradition is shown in all its breadth:
sympathetic remedies, transplantation practices, superstitions intended to reveal the hidden, defense spells, formulas related to popular justice, and a large section dedicated to black magic, a raw and fascinating testament to the spiritual mentality of another era.

Each formula has been rigorously translated and accompanied by an explanatory comment that highlights that, in ancient magic, nothing was used at random. Each ingredient, gesture, or action responded to a precise symbolism, forming part of a complex system of correspondences and meanings.

This book is not a practical manual, but a historical, cultural, and spiritual document. Some formulas reflect beliefs, practices, or uses that are now unacceptable or dangerous; their value lies in what they reveal about the life, fears, hopes, and survival strategies of past communities.

An essential volume for magic scholars, researchers of European folklore, and readers fascinated by the symbolic and spiritual thought of the Nordic tradition.
